Delay of kitchen remodel, visitors coming in.

So I thought I would make another pentidy, requested by family member.

Found this piece of American Ash, 20 mm over length. !

Pentidy to be copied in background.

jointed up with mitres.

Found a waste piece of iroko, offcut from a resawn earlier job, it cleaned to around 6mm on the thicknesser.

Two carcasses glued up with approx 90 minutes.

And they fitted with a bit of work on the sander.

Found some more waste pieces and prepared the tubes

(Machined the tube mitres like this.)

Lunchtime arrived, and went varnishing in the afternoon on those tissue boxes.
Retirement is a full time occupation! :)
 
Excellent (as usual) Every time I see them I promise myself I'll Have a go and then forget about it until I see another one you have made.

Perhaps I should make a memo board first then pin a reminder on it :D :D :D

Got back to the box Saturday and completed apart from final clean up and polishing with wax.

Tubes went on first.

Cut the internal box down to size and prepared a 1500 mm length of 10mmx12mm bead. Used Lacewood off a plank I have stored. My opinion is this timber is useful as mouldings, its a bit too figured for box making on its own.

Used cling film to avoid stick ups to the wrong areas.

Also clamps to hold beadings on.

Next job before the kitchen remodel, the wife needs three picture frames for her embroidery, a job I keep putting off, don't like doing PFs,
