Does any body use these Irwin clamps?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Quick-Grip-Irwi ... 98&sr=1-13

If so are they worth the extra? With the extra clamping pressure will they bridge a gap between a one handed clamp and a sash cramp?

I have been using Bessey clamps for the past six years, they are very good but are now getting a bit loose and keep jumping out of their fixed position.

I find I use these when I should really be using a sash cramp because they are so light and easy to use.

I bought four of them (two large, two medium) from a local tool shop simply because they were on sale for £19 each!

That was at least 5 years ago and they still work as they did the day I got them.

Granted...they are not close to the quality of the Bessey ones...and the downside is the lack of true parallel grip and sponginess....but they have served me well over the years.

I wouldn't dream of paying £30 each for them though...I'd probably save up for replacement Bessey clamps now....like this one in the sale...

thanks for that jimi, the bessy clamps i have been using are in fact the bessy duo ones, i do have the Bessy REVO Clamps as well and they are fine but it is the duo i was looking to replace.

Looking at all the DUO range on Amazon, they seem to be in a sale too...so I would plump for them mate....

The Irwins are "ok" but not a patch on the Besseys I have used.

I plan to replace all my clamps with Bessey ones...probably a few at every birthday, Christmas...etc...but I'm rather lucky as I only used them for smaller projects anyway, hence cheaper. I hate to think a set for furniture work would cost!
