We used to use it a lot back in the day. Pinepack in Tuxford used to use tons of the stuff so we bought off them (now gone). As said above it was very stable, machined and finished superbly but was very soft and bruised easily.
I have some fitted wardrobes from 25 years ago finished in 2K lacquer, which have showed little shrinkage or movement.

the danger I've found with knots as big as those is the wood is severely weakened so it can sometimes just crack across the good bits. but yes very little resin in this stuff.
