As there are a few people here who like their cryptic crosswords, I thought I would post this little puzzle I came across.

Howard is throwing a party. For reasons beyond my knowledge Howard has decided to use steganography and a cipher to encrypt the dress code for the party within the invitations. Being a clever fellow he has hidden the two methods used to encrypt the message in plain sight.

The invitation Howard has sent to his friends reads thusly:

I extend this invitation to you, dear friend, to join me in the celebration of my birthday.
Come on the 24th December 8pm to my estate and please bring a guest.
The only condition I ask of you is that you conform to the dress code hidden within this invitation.
In the spirit of Sir Francis Bacon and Julius Caesar before him I ask you to solve this riddle.
My most sincere thanks, Howard Robard Hughes.

Spaces and punctuation should not be included in any decoding of the invitation.
The steganographic portion of the cipher uses a FULL alphabet, not the original method.

Question:
What is the dress code for the party?

The first to answer correctly gets a special mystery prize!

Well to solve it, I think that first we'd have to eat the 'Bacon' and then followed by the "Caesar' salad.

Eentsy-weentsy teeny-weeny........no, not a polka dot one.

Have you got it then Roger?

Yes, Slim but I did have to resort to an awful lot of help.

Nice puzzle. Did you solve it? If you did then you've got way too much spare time on your hands

Well done Roger.

Yes I did solve it, but unforntunately I don't have enough time on my hands!

Mr Maskery, I thought you would solve this.

I wouldn't know where to start! Anyway, I've been out walking all day. Second day off in two months, whoopee! Things should be settling down a bit now, so I'll start thinking about our crossword again when I get a few hours.

But as to the riddle, I think you are going to have to spell it out for me.
