Price and availability of birch ply

I was speaking to the sales manager at Eden's Corsham depot today. I needed 15 18mm 8x4 Birch Ply sheets and 5 10'x5' sheets plus a bunch of MR MDF.

No long grain birch in stock and not likely to have any for two to three weeks. Cross grain available but not until the end of the week. Scandinavian sources have reduced their export quota to the UK by 20%. All going to China and the US! Prices have also risen.

Has anyone else found this with their suppliers?

yup. had to get some 15mm for some wardrobe drawers. Took a while to get delivered. Wish i ordered twice as much as i need more now :roll:

yup, we had the last 4 long grain sheets from edens last week, sorry! I ordered from James Latham, they had plenty in stock, although not for long if all the edens customers are goin there.
