I've Googled and looked at Ronseal Decking Cleaner & Reviver 5 Litre and a few others. I just bought a Vax VPW2 PowerWash pressure washer 2000W . I've never used a pressure washer, I did Google on using one but found info not clear, I think some detergents can remove the original stain on the wood, which is what I'm after I think. I bought 10L of Cuprinol stain to be going on with. I bought this machine as Vax said suitable for cleaning up fences.

Can anyone offer experienced based advice on cleaning my fence up prior to staining, restaining?
Attached photos of current state of my properties fence.

Just give it a good going over with the jet washer a couple of times ,you'll remove some of the existing fence treatment, the cleaner/reviver you mentioned probably won't remove the existing stain, it will clear off any algae and clean up the wood a bit.
I have a petrol engined pressure washer that will cut through 4x2 timber easily, i fitted a rotary nozzle to it and have successfully removed ronseal and Cuprinol fence treatments, You just have to be carefull and keep the nozzle moving.
What have you got to repaint it with, in my experience most of the Cuprinol/ ronseal fence paints are not very durable and need reapplying regularly
I've proved this to a client last year, in march 2016 I re-coated one fence panel in Cuprinol ducksback fence paint, the next panel was done in Bedec barn paint, in march this year the panel with the Cuprinol treatment was mainly covered in green algae, the Bedec painted panel was pretty much perfect, all of their fence is now painted with Bedec barn paint.
It's a fraction more costly but worth it

Every now and then (not an exact science - just submission to the ever-patient higher authority), I pressure wash our wooden outdoor furniture and have done the fence too.

Never used any detergent or reviver, just water pressure and the domestic karcher will beat the bejasus out of the wood if you leave it on one spot too long - all previous treatment well and truly washed away.

Messy biz though - make sure the neighbour's washing isn't out!!

OK cheers for info I bought 10L of Cuprinol, Woodland Green from Wilco for 10 quid. Just done a quick search on the barn paint, seem to be several types, gloss included, ones I found were quite a bit more expensive than the Cuprinol. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place?
Thanks again.

Ah right :) I read about using just plain pressurized water and you used your domestic Karcher. I'll give it a try, will have a play on some scrap to get the hang of it so don't.... shred the fence to bits.
Cheers.

The bedec barn paint will do 13 to 15 sq meters per litre depending on substrate ( 65 to 75 sq m per 5 Ltr)
Cuprinol fence paint will do upto 5 sq meters per litre. (24 sq m per 5 Ltr)
When you work it out the bedec is better value,
It's more expensive to buy The barn paint, it is about £40 for a 5 litre tin but covers about 3 times the area of the Cuprinol paint paint.

Ah right, I'm with you, cheers, I'll have to have a better look around. Any idea of the working temperature is for the Bedec barn paint?
I'm assuming after carefully using the pressure washer with plain water. I'll need to give the fence a good hose down?
This forums great, people always know the best way to go about doing something.
