Power feeder advice

Does anyone know this Power Feeder. It will be used on a spindle moulder and hopefully a planer. It is currently on offer at £299+vat. Any rrecommendationswould help. Thanks Giff

What sort of planer/spindle are you using as this may not have a long enough arm to do the job if its a combi?
If they are seperates moving a power feed is quite heavy work and may not be something you would want to do regularly.
I suppose it also depends on the level of work you want to get out of it!

I have asked for arm / reach length and I am waiting for a response. It's a good point about moving it but the attraction is that it is only ( only !! ) 31kg as opposed to the more powerful ones which seem to me more like 60 - 70kg. I have a 3hp SIP spindle moulder and a 3hp Record PT 300 planer. It was more the power output, 0.25HP that I was concerned about. Would it be powerful enough. Thanks Giff

IMHO, it ain't big enough for use on a planer. Ideally you need a four wheeler. The only reason I'd use one on a planer is for long production runs on thin boards. They're not easy to setup for planer use. And they're next to useless for straightening.

1/4hp for a small spindle moulder, I'm not sure about that either, but it depends on what your planning on machining.
