Stig, I love the eggs but they look too 'pointy' at the pointed end. They need to be a little more round, not a lot! HTH.

If they were rabbit eggs I'd agree but these are dragon eggs

Got a few more done today, 2 different sizes to keep things simple and make the best use of the growths I have, I've got 2 more small ones ready but need to glue them to a waste block as there's not enough wood to put a tenon on them and about a dozen or so larger ones, once they're turned I will finish processing the remaining trunk sections, so far I've got almost 20 small blanks stored in wet shavings, will probably double that when finished then I need to sort through all the remaining little blocks to see what's usable and what can be put on the fire pit.

More dragons eggs found, processed and polished over the last 2 days, they take a bit longer than I expected as I'm making sure I get a good sheen from sanding before polishing them
Still quite a few to finish then I can start searching through the remaining logs to find more.

The old girl I made this for was forher birthday. She decided to wash it up like a normal dish, hot soapy water scouring pad and all. So I volunteered to redo the finish and it turned out better than expected. The last to coats after sanding sealing and polishing were menaline lacquer so in theory she'll even be able use it for all types of food without spoiling the look

Some green oak tea lights, got them as thin as I could. Made these as a leaving gift for one of the girls at work

I bought a box of LED tea lights that flicker to imitate real candles, they work really well and the batteries last about 10 hours.

Got give an edge piece of walnut about one and a half meters and 40 cm across with the bark still on by the wine grower friends I made the wooden wine bottle for. After chopping the end off due two cracking I was able to process to 5 pieces to make thin serving plates/dishes the largest on didn't make it as l went through the bottom during the sanding process one I've already given away as a belated crimbo gift and forget to photo it and here are the remaining three drying after oiling one had bark inclusion so sanded the edge to form a weird kidney bean shape.

Today had a little play with some salvaged door wood bits that I've been saving. After a little investigation found it to be meranti. Tried out a new method for the lid, not a big piecce only 12 cm high and 3.5 cm at its widest part.
