Give Chestnut Finishes a shout - they're really helpful.
Though for my money, I'd say water based satin or gloss lacquer - spray on for ease and speed.

9 years ago granny asked for a bird table so dutifully knocked one up out of oak wood from an old bed that had been thrown away but last week asked if I would clean it up for her. I'm sure she really meant renovate as of the original only three bits were reusable the rest had been gotten to by insects and bird poop. One photo of the original with granny

been hiding under conifers a few years.Nature rotted out the pith I just gouged out pockets and planted

I'm working on something little 'more/bigger' but wanted to produce something over easter and had a request from Wife and daughter so....
An easter pair of Leveche pens.... one wooden (thuya burl) and one acrylic, one a fountain pen and one a rollerball...

I use a cloverdale product here in Canada, as it's Canadian made but you will have a similar product there. It is resistant to so many things including, Coca Cola, lemon juice etc. and I spray with an airless Graco sprayer. And I sand between second and third coat. 320 grit.

I had a bit of a challenging weekend with my fibromyalgia and was a bit down, so I decided on making something for a bit of fun

So I made a little thing that was supposed to represent my pooch (very low artistic skills lol)

okay all installed now. i like this satin finish. i have been using on all cabinets as of late. Sprayed with air assist sprayer.

and on to my next hunny do list. te doing entrance at house. going to be a sit down bench and cabinets for storage and coats at front door and redoing room at top of stairs into a bedroom.
