I have looked to see if i can find a plan to build a wooden adjustable tool rest for my grinder. I sharpen my tools with the Tormek system, but i need a better platform in front of the grinder. I want to reshape some old chisels.

Can somebody give me ideas and list of hardware needed to build one. Pictures would be a help for me.

Thanks Steve, it's only the ajustable platform i need to make. I can see one in a picture on the link that you posted. I understand that it is quite simple to make. Only problem is that i do not have a very technical eye for things like this. I can follow an instruction and have a go at making things when it is in front of me, but i find it difficult to see something and make it.

Does this make sense? or should i give up and take up knitting!!!! :D

Dermot , have you got Keith Rowleys book he gives a very easy to understand (how to ) of a jig for sharpening tools .I was even able to follow it. AHHH the Bible, how many has it helped.
REgards Boysie.

Dermot,
This is my version of the Keith Rowley tool rest Boysie mentioned. It`s quite easy to make, mine is made from 1 1/4 Oak.
