Planing a Cypress work top

Phil P. I think you are right about the staining under the knife cuts. Perhaps two of us will have to attend. When I get back in the Worksop I have a Douglas fir work top to glue up. I might do some experimenting on it.

If there is any finish on the surface to remove, then most sanders would soon have the abrasive surface clogged. Cutting the finish as a start would get rid of that problem.
