:( I' looking for some help from my fellow woodworkers have a planer thicknesser but when soley using the planer function I'm getting some snipe at the end of the cut, I've tried various depths of cut and various speeds of cut I keep my weight on the outfeed table when passing timber over the table noth seems to make any difference has anybody got some idea whats I'm doing wrong

It could be that your outfeed table is to low and the uncut wood falls off the end of the infeed inducing snipe for that last inch or so as it passes over the cutter.

It sounds like your blades are set too high in relation to your outfeed table

I will third that too. Either way the blades are higher than the outfeed table causing this to happen. Re-set them with a straightedge to the outfeed table and try again.

I agree. You want to check your knives are set correctly and then to set the outfeed table to their highest point.

You are right to keep pressure on the outfeed table when flattening or straightening your timber and shallow cut are always better, around 1.5mm, no more than 2mm in one pass.
