Planer/thicknesser jig

Spent an unhappy hour yesterday afternoon resetting up the blades on my P/T.

I have decided to make up the jig pictured (excuse crude sketch, I must learn how to use my cad program one day). My thinking is that the centre piece can be set to the blade height by resting across the planer table so that the blade touches each end. This setting can then be used to reset the other blade or blades. Fitting earth magnets inside the centre piece would be a luxury because it might pull the loosened blade upto its setting height.

I have a Delta 12" planer. I don't know if this would work for you, it is called a mini planer pal. It works great for me.

Thanks for suggestion, is the jig working with magnets?
