I am not trying to compete with Philly's brush, but I came up with a neat tool for cleaning those awkward bits in small planes.

Based on an Axminster disposable brush (with the hollow metal stem).
Poke a bit of dowel in the end and sharpen with a pencil sharpener to a nice long point.
Hey presto a brush and wooden pick to reach the parts that others.......!

Good wheeze.

The L-N brush had its origin on my bench. Somehow I had aquired one many years ago, which had an MOD stamp on it. Very good quality, nice firm tightly packed long bristles.

A favorite tool, good for plane clearing, bench sweeping and sanding dust removal etc etc.

Tom spotted this, on one of my visits and tracked down the best current supplier.

A Frankie Howard saying comes to mind "Oh titter ye not!" Philly has a fine example but any suitable brush is an invaluable tool.

best wishes,
David Charlesworth

Ooooooh, cute!

Tut Tut Scrit, you are clearly slipping, there must be a H & S document to cover trying to poke your eye out on a sharp pointy thing whilst getting in close to see what the sof brushy bit is doing to those shavings. :)
I suggest a mod, some sort of rubber cover for the pointy bit, if it was abrasive rubber it could be used for those tiny particles of rust that build up.

That's nothing - you obviously haven't seen Bugbears saw sharpening gadget:)

Cheers Mike

Oh - I assumed, like me, you always wore some form of eye protection?

For those that don't, a cork stucK on the end is a simple solution
