Hi, total newbie here!

I'm building cabinets for the my living room and for the face frame and the doors I'm using some planed square clear pine that I've found in B&Q, Claymark brand. Now I'm facing the problem of finding thin boards for the door panels. Like 6mm thick. All the timber suppliers that I know in Edinburgh mostly stock building materials. And I don't have the tools needed to resaw a thicker board.

Any ideas of where can I find ~6mm clear pine panels near Edinburgh? Or maybe a place where they could resaw the boards for me?

Thanks!

@woodbrains yes, that could be a good option. I'll look into that, thanks!

@alexfn 4 boards of around 600x500mm. Not sure about the exact measurements yet...

Lanarkshire hardwoods will cut boards to size for you. They are just past Balerno about halfway to Carstairs Junction. Excellent source of good boards and all scottish sourced. So you'll get what you need there. Unfortunately Edinburgh is a desert regards real wood woodworking resources. It's weird as there are a lot of small furniture makers etc but we all have to source from down south for a lot of stuff. If you are happy to pop over the bridge then there are a couple of "yards" one in Saline and another in Glenrothes that have good stock and will mill to general size you need and you just finish off.
Otherwise you're off to either Brodies or one of the smaller yards up their way.

I've just got 6mm veneered MDF from Thornbridge in Leith. It seems the way to go.

Thanks all for your help!
