Pin nailer

I am making some folding doors to close off a room divide (I promise I will post some photos)
I have some delicate Victorian moulding which I made thanks to the extreme generosity of STEVECUV who lent me the spindle moulder cutters. There is well over 50 metres of this moulding which measures about 10mm deep x 14mm wide.....
So if I wanted to fix it with brads - am I right that there exist /micro-pinners' capable of firing 23gauge nails which are almost invisible? I have an 18G nailer which seems huge and is also in danger of splitting the moulding. What would the experts do?
I have only found an air-powered micro pinner for about £200 such as this one http://www.locksonline.com/acatalog/23-gauge-micro-pinner-14061.html. Does anyone know of any smaller-than-18G nailers which are electric? Or should I glue it on?
Thanks for help - I will get on and take photos tonight if that will tempt anyone to offer good advice!

I've got a Bostitch 23g headless pinner. The pins are very fine, and almost invisible in use.

I tend to use a mixture of glue and 23g pins for delicate mouldings.

I have the Ace & K 23g headless pinner which is a excellent tool for the job, this sells for about £160 or you could try the Axminster 24g headless pinner for £43. If you are really flush you could get a top notch Omer for about £263. I would not bother with the electric variety unless you spend a lot of money.

Am I right that both of those are gas-powered? I am a bit nervous about that, being a gas-powered virgin as it were! So if I went along that route, I could get the Axi headless pinner http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Axminster-Headless-Pinner-30590.htm and then would this compressor be OK? http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Axminster-AW10HP-Mini-Air-Compressor-564887.htm and then what else do I need? airline hose?

They are not really gas powered, just good old compressed air. The compressor you are looking at is fine for a nail or pin gun but not much else, I have one for site work ... I have the http://www.axminster.co.uk/recno/3/prod ... 564885.htm in the workshop. Remember the AXi pingun only goes up to 20mm pins, the only extra is an airline or one of these http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Axmi ... -21129.htm I mounted mine directly to the compressor.

I've got one of the Maestri electric panel pinners and they also do a veneer pinner which does not really need filling. Not cheap but they are very well built.

Spotnails also do an 'own-brand' 21g veneer pinner - I bought mine over the Maestri because it takes pins up to 30mm, which can be handy. Similar sort of money though

I have the same oneand the holes hardly need filling - a little glue and fine sanding dust will make them invisible.

Same here (bostich 23g)

There are tens of them in each strip of this, and they were pretty much invisible even before filling. Because they were into 2mm veneer, I had to put them on least embedded setting, which meant that a few that hit tough bits in the veneer or substrate didn't recess properly. They are so small it looked better just to leave them than punching and filling.

You wouldn't want to do that on a table top or something, but then again you could get one of those in a vacuum bag without too much messing around.

Thanks for all the replies - sounds as if it has to be air powered if it is 23G but could be electric for a 21G nailer. Mmmm tricky
