Not sure if in the correct section, apologies if not..

I require a pillar drill that has a fall of 150-200mm, ie: need too drill straight holes down into oak plank 150-200mm.

Any suggestions welcome, apart from "Sack the manager"

cheers

I dont know of any drills thats will travel 200mm. My wadkin will travel just over 150mm.

You can drill up to 200mm by drilling part way through and then raising the bed and carrying on drilling with the drill bit part way in the timber but to get 200mm deep you will need a travel of at least 100mm which i think some of the floor standing drills have.

Cheers

The other option is to drill the first 50 or 60 mm of hole on the pillar drill (as much as it will do anyway) then use a hand mains drill to finish the hole. At least you then have the part drilled hole to guide you and keep it straight (ish).
