Hi all, have a pillar drill, bought is used and think probably low end n price wise.

Anyhow, the switch that works when the top cover is closed has failed and not reparable. So essentiallywhen the ccover is down, it won't turn on.

I have bypassed this by a fitting a bit of wire with 2 spade attachments , it works fine but when the cover to move the belts is open the drill can still operate.

So i obviously wwon't change the belts until the power is off, but apart from this, ia there anything else i need to be aware of?

I have googled but apart from chinese sites Icannot find a like for like replacement, but it is not for bbusiness use, only I will use it so can't see any issues, but just checking

The nvr switch works fine as well.

if you post a pic of the original switch, someone on here will surely be able to direct you to the correct replacement. Or may even have one lying in the sawdust!
