I am looking to buy a pillar drill, I’m only hobby woodworker so I don’t a three phase monster, but I don’t want anything of poor quality either.
My thinking at the moment is to try and buy a used Meddings drill or similar with the logic being that it is bit on an overkill for what I need, but it will be good quality, robust and accurate. My fear of buying something new such as Record drill is that it will be under powered and not particularly well made.
I don’t really want to spend more than £300 or so, is my logic of buy used but good sensible or can I get a decent new drill for the budget?
Many thanks,
