do they come with the plastic cap protection? or is it an extra?

Steve, come without protection, because they are also used for processing of the metals, to tighten profiles, where they are not needed. So, if you work in wood you take them. You pay 6 euros for a couple, or 68 euros for a box of 100 pieces
