after the dibber came a bowl/platter.... still using Kapur, and still no 'real' idea of what i was doing or the correct tool to use.... :?
still the beginning of Sept '08 i then went and had a days tuition with John Davis at Chilbolton, and learnt (??) how to do coves, curves and all the other things that made it an interesting day. At the end of the day 'we' made this bowl......
then there was no stopping me......
then came the 'T' lights
sets of 'T' lights
then i got a bit adventurous.... and had a go at my first box
this was a birthday present for a sister-in-law's 60th birthday near the end of Oct '08..... so turning has now reached 5 to 6 weeks.....
I then did a whole load of stuff as Xmas pressies.... small bowls/pot pourri dishs, boxs, mushrooms, more 'T' lights......
Then i think it was Shortly after Xmas i was asked if i could do a set of 'natural edge' coasters "but not round, i want them sort of eliptical..." she said, ok i'll have a go....
6 coasters and 2 'T' lights using Crack Willow.
I'm now 9 months down the 'slope' and really enjoying it....
I think i'm (sort of) lucky that i work with a lot of women..... i take the odd item or two in to get their opinions  and hey presto.... i come home with a few more orders to make some more bits and bobs. I don't make any money really.... but it does go towards the next lump of wood or chisel etc.
Just as soon as i get chance i'll post some more pics of the more recent stuff i've done.
