Hello all,

I have noted previous posts regarding second hand tool shops and thought these pics might be of interest.

I stumbled on this shop, which must be fairly new, as I have not seen it before on the Dereham Road in Norwich. It is not far from the "Fat Cat" the best pub in Britain.

The shop was full of stock, I spotted a number of large stanley planes and some block and bull nose planes. In addition some measuring tools and a few saws.

Next time I'm in the city I will call in.

Now back to the pub

Cheers, Esc.

Maybe I'm being cynical but I'm thinking:

Site/van/ back of/ fallen off/ fenced.

In no particular order!

Cheers

Tim

edit: looks like I'm wrong then - sorry if I've upset anyone. My judgement was based on the number of levels visible - looks like a lot of site kit to me.

I don't know Esc, looks like they have some dodgy characters in there....

Pete

You mean that bloke photographing Esc whilst he looks in the window.
Perhaps the shop is a front for MI5.

You could say that of any secondhand tool shop. But surely a bunch of old Stanleys are not likely to have fallen off the back of any van since about 1970...

I have been in there about two years ago.

Some interesting items and a few beaters.
eg. 4x6ft Record Tbar clamps -£12 each
Some Marples chisels with nice boxwood handles and good length clean blades at £8 each for my son
A half set of odd numbered Hollows and Rounds..Can't remember price
Record 53D vice...£45

Prices are a mix of a bit highish and middle of the road
Quality is Ok if you are choosy or prepared to put in some work/cash to improve tools eg planes

Next time I'm there I will be looking for a set of gouges.

Saying its all flogged gear or beaters is a bit of an over judgement. The guy who owns it seems to spend a lot of time at auctions, car boots etc .

regards
alan

I'm surprised to learn that that shop has been there for a while.

Do you know I have never seen it before. I drive down that road a reasonable amount, heading for the pub.

Still the missus always says I go round with my eyes closed all the time.

I plan to call in and have a poke around. I'm not necessarily going to buy anything but you never quite know what you might find.
