Thats good to hear, I'm seriously considering the perform tools for the money.

Regarding the grinder, I think I'm gonna get the one you mentioned and have a crack at the jig's above 8)

Just my thoughts on the grinder. I use an old £25 grinder that my Dad bought about 15 years ago, I've just put decent wheels on it. I have a Tormek but have worn out the wheel and never bothered replacing it.
On the tools, I buy Ashley Iles if possible, great tools and I've never had any problems. They offer a life time guarantee but I've never had to us it! With some of the others I've managed to break a few and in the past have found that the steel is not always the same quality, I have had an occasional softer one as you get down the tool, and this is on well know brands.
