If this works ther should be piccy of a quilted maple/sycamore bowl...

?????????

!!%$~~##

Yep, read the destructions, copied the url from properties panel of the pic, pasted it here, highlighted it and clicked Img... any clues to what now?

Update:

There must be some rules on me gallery(s) that wont allow me to get at the *.jpg url...

The pic can be seen Here:

http://www.oldsoke.co.uk/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,40/?g2_itemId=320

Sorry, it seems to take forever to load :x

Looks like that is the list number or index of the picture - not the image itself. It would be ending with a .jpg or .gif if it were. I can see the picture from the link but it won't show embedded as you're trying to:

Bowl

For instance the link to this:

Wolf.jpg

is:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r128 ... g/Wolf.jpg

Thanks Roger... tried several url variations from within me site and the external gallery.... workin on it....

Hi Graham,

You can't get the address of the image from your web site because of the way that your gallery is configured. Do you create it yourself or are you using some specialist programme?

The format of the link should start with
You can't get that middle bit, you get another link instead. It's written in a code called python instead of straight html.

I'll have a fiddle and see if I can sort it out but you may need to access it and get the address via your ftp programme.
Pete

PS Lovely bowl, something to aim for.....when I get me chuck!!!!

Thanks Pete... for the comments re the bowl and the IT side...

No2 son has transformed me site from my humble but simple html... in doing so he's made it easy to manage ....for an old fart working at yesterday's technology level ...except when it comes to finding the url of a pic

There'll be a few more pix put up to the gallery late on tomorrow... that bit I can do...

Update: Just re-read your post Pete, I think the gallery is using Joomla...

I might be telling you to suck eggs as you might be already doing it correctly. :) But first right click on the pic you want to show. then left click on "Properties" when the properties pop up high light the address and copy it by pressing Control + C you can now paste that address adding the img tags.

Thanks your lordship

Tried that but because of the way me gallery is set up it doesn't show the *.jpg reference...

I'll be inviting No2 son (who's too clever by half) over for tea... to explain there's no such thing as a free lunch

Hi Graham,

Never heard of Joomla but just had a look. It's a pretty neat package but it will need to be adapted a bit to allow you to access the pics the way you want. No2 son is definitely your best bet. I suspect he knows as much, probably more than me as well so he should be able to sort it for you.

Good luck

Pete

Graham,

Try not to use 'spaces' in the file name, your 2nd and 3rd pictures did not display because of that. I have fixed it by replacing the space with %20 in the name.

Nice work, I would need stronger glasses.

Thanks Dave... twasn't me (honest) the space appeared after I'd copied the pix into the webpix file... sorted now .... I think

Nice work,Graham - still amazes me how you make things so nice and so small.

Got posting pictures sussed now

Andrew

Thanks Andrew... the pix took a while but it's a great relief now they're there

Thanks Steve... miniatures are a great way of using up stuff that would end up in the bin... if they don't work out you've lost nothing and learned a little
