When you say web address do you mean a link to a picture on a web page?

You can link it to any picture that has an address such as this:

Can I link it to a picture on my computer?

No you cannot link it to a 'Home' computer, the computer has to have a registered web address.

There are several sites that have server space to host your pictures, do a search on picture hosting.
There is a tutorial on the subject on this Forum.

I think I'm with it. I will ask my colleague at work to put one on the firms web page and link it from that.

I think this can be done secretly. Cheers. Esc.

Goodness me - another member in East Anglia!

Yes, you are quite possibly correct that a pic can be put on the firms web site secretly. However, every time someone displays a page with one of your posts on, the pic will be fetched from the firm's web server. This could lead to it being detected.

Of course, if the site is not closely monitored it might not get noticed, but I thought I would bring that to your attention just in case you were unaware.

cheers

Or open a Photobucket/ImageShack/Flickr etc. image hosting account, and use that (I use Photobucket - it's free, and simple enough for a Luddite like me  )

Escudo, I would certainly not load any personal stuff on a companies web server, it was grounds for dismissal at my last employer.

Does your ISP not give you some web space to use?

I operated for years with 'free' 50-100meg space before getting my own server space.

I know my ISP allocates 100meg to my account and it currently holds a web site with over 1700 files, mainly family pictures in excess of 65Mb.

And at least two others that still have me registered as a pay as you go customer hold even more.

I know you have to manage the file FTP (File Transfer) yourself but it is not rocket science and can be near drag and drop if using free software. Your work IT colleagues should be able to show you how.
