First post on this forum so here goes. I haven't been turning long, but someone bought me a second hand SIP lathe, that needed some TLC to get it working, so once that was sorted, I got the bug.
I'm self taught, getting most knowledge from watching videos, on you tube and reading a book I got from the library.
It's been a progressive learning curve, using a variety of different woods. This is my latest creation, a pestle and mortar made from 40mm oak board, the stuff they make kitchen work tops from. I cut two 110mm squares, glued them together in opposite grain direction, making a nice block to start turning with.
