Hi,
Here it is this one took about an hour and a half to make I must be getting better! and my new cabinet rasp speeded the smoothing of the hole up considerably.
The plan
The wood a nice piece of rosewood, smells lovely.
Reducing the thickness on the band saw.
Sticking the pattern on.
Drilling the hole.
Corners removed.
Sanding to the line.
Slot cutting with a small japanese saw.
All slots done.
Veneer inserted (I have to thin it down slightly to fit the kerfs)
Glue, Wilcos finest!
Sand flush
Rough shaped on the belt sander
Held in a quick clamp in the vice
Checking under a lamp for flat-spots after sanding 120 grit then 320 grit
Waxed
Thats all folks
Pete
