Well, the title is really rather grand for a rather basic jig but I couldn't have made my segmented pen without it.
I decided not to put a runner on the sled to run in the mitre slot - instead it runs against the rip fence and the fence at the back of the sled is square to the saw blade. A toggle clamp holds the blank securely and a stop block secured by a quick clamp ensures all pieces are cut to the same length.
I've got another blank glued up ready for another go at this type of pen:
The zero clearance of the sled makes the cuts nice and clean and only a quick light sanding is needed to tidy up each slice. I'll post some WIP pictures of my next effort.
