Paring Chisel?

Hi all,

Just received some nice small chisels that I ebay'd the other day, among them is a bevelled one about 10" long overall, approx half that blade - tapering quite appreciably from handle to tip. Unfortunately no makers name that is readable.....bit short/small for a parer? possibly someone's ground it down for some reason?

Anyone seen one like this?

Tapering on the sides? Then they sound like fish tails. I have a few Japanese ones and they make great pairers.

Could also be a carving chisel - a picture would help.
