Last year I painted my front door with Sadolin Superdec Satin (black). The door is solid timber, south facing with no porch or canopy to protect it from the elements.
The paint has covered really well but when it gets dirty it is difficult to clean it to an even, streak-free finish. I’ve tried standard household cleaners and polishes as well as meths and white spirit but nothing achieves a consistency of appearance.
Was I wrong to go for a satin finish for such exposed woodwork? Or should I just put on another coat?
