Have been waiting a few weeks for this to arrive and I picked it up from the Post Office in town this morning and upon opening the carton (and I intend to keep it and all the packaging which was the San Fransisco Chronicle) this was inside:
...one of Jim Krenov's planes. It's quite roughly finished and still has marking out lines along one side as well as some glue that hasn't been cleaned off on the other, but that doesn't matter, it's been signed (you can see Jim's signature on the front) and was made by the man especially for me, so in common with Derek of Oz and Philly, I can't help feeling a little bit humbled. Most of us, regardless of wether we like his stuff or not, will never have the chance to own or maybe even see one of his pieces so to be able to own something made by him is a rare privilege.
