Hello -

-hoping some kind soul can offer a little advice on a bandsaw.

I currently use an antique 3 wheel Coronet Capitol with a 14" throat. Whilst it's lovely to look at, It's a bugger to set up & has no dust extraction.

I had planned on buying a 2nd hand startrite 352 which seem to come up quite often - but have just noticed, that the The 14" Fox F28-194 is available new for 300 notes (& appears to have a beefy 2hp motor).

I've written off the Axminster SBW3501B because of its smaller motor and the price.

The AWEFSBB looks good but would really take me over budget if I bought new, as would Records BS350 ( although just missed one for £245 on ebay).

Have had a good look through the forums at the other Fox machinery reviews/opinions, but cant seem to find anything on their bandsaws..

Any help would be most greatfully received !

James

Sorry I know nowt about the FOx you mention but have you considered the Record BS300X Sightly smaller throat than the 350 and a little cheaper - praps just enough to get it into the budget. Worth a look I think,

Cheers Mike

-Ah yes the 300. A bit too small in throat & power I'm afraid, but thanks for the reply !

I don't think you would go wrong with a second hand startrite.

Adam

ditto on the startrite. why anyone buys new is beyond me with such a quantity of secondhand startrite on the bay.

Thanks gents - much appreciated. Have taken the plunge and put my Coronet on the bay.

Just spotted this little beauty - ebay link

Has anybody here got something floorstanding / fairly beefy & under £600 that's exess to requirements ?
