Other uses for spindle blanks.

Random question. I've got a few spindle blanks, there 80 x 80 ish, maybe 30cm long. . I don't have lathe.. I've got a walnut , sapele, Just wondering if anyone's got any good ideas. For making little projects with them. I thought about slicing them into 10 - 12mm thick strips. Maybe making some boxes. Or chopping up for T light holders.
