I just gave the laptop a bit of a slap, in temper, and its gone all slow.
Have I hurt it? Or will it recover?

Lap TOP - TOP!

I smacked my hand down hard on my desk a few years ago, to quieten a class down, and hit my laptop.

Bent it all out of shape...

You have probably only hurt its feelings. Of course there is a chance that it may report you to Bill Gates - assuming it is running Windows :)

You need to coax it out of its sulk - perhaps stroke it gently and murmer nice things to it. If you are lucky it may recover and forgive you

Cheers :D

Now there's a Dragons Den Eureka moment - a laptop that you could slam without damaging it! I would call it a SLAPTOP! :oops:

Mark. :D

funny thing;

when i first did it i had to explain to the mrs that i had buggered the laptop up, it was showing the XP page for about 6mins, and left the room to appease her.

When I came back in the room it had turned itself off again (this is what it got slapped for in the first place!) and upon firing it up again it decided it was all good, and now is certainly running FASTER than it was before.

Stupid, but on the bookshelf behind me is a whole better laptop, dual core, vista, anything you like, but I use the old one because i cannot be bothered to instal the printer on the new one! So in a way I was kinda pleased when the old one stopped working for a while because it would've forced me into using the new one!

Like winning a new laptop!!

Funny peculiar eh? I might as well sell one of em.
