Here is a picture of some of my split-nut turnscrews.
The one on the left I fabricated from a very wide screwdriver, and is my favorite (but decidedly UGLY!).
The others I obtained from various UK auctions. Sometimes they come in handy, especially for smaller split-nuts. The gullet is far too deep on the Sorby, weakening the tip. Perhaps it has some other use?
I have never used the one that mounts in a brace. I think that one has more control with the conventional turnscrews.
