Hi, greetings from Leicestershire.
Recently retired and taken up woodturning - hoping to be able to ask for help and advice as needed - happy to return the favour when I have the requisite knowledge.

Depending on where you're located in Leicester, you might like to consider joining a woodturning club.

Perhaps the nearest one to you is Derwent Woodturners, whose meetings are held at Sharpes Pottery museum, 23 West Street, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE1. It looks like an active club, with demonstrations by club members and professional demonstrators, with hands-on tuition opportunities for novice turners:
