Evening all,
Ive just found a wooden plane that my grandad gave me years ago,and it somehow ended up in my dads possesion so it ended up covered in paint and all manner of gunk!
I have'nt managed to coax the camera into life yet but i will post some pics asap,im hoping that someone might be able to give me some more information about it, its an oblong shape approx 22" long by approx 4" square and seems to be a reddish hardwood with chamfered top edges and it also has the word master stamped into the front in 3/8" high letters, ive also got the blade which has a steel plate with a rolled front edge attached to it.
I know its very difficult without a picture but im thinking it may be a jointer?
It may have been my great grandads who i believe was a thames shipwright around the end of the 19th century/early twentieth century.
My apologies for a pictureless posting.
Joe
p.s. it looks like a larger version of phil edwards traditional jack plane.
