Recently I have been posting questions about whats the best way to power my Wadkin AGS10, (inverters converters digital static) etc etc. I have just visited a place up the road from me called Timber Team Machinery, Its in a few barn type buildings on the road to Hinkley in leicestershire, I was amazed at some of the beautiful old machines they have for sale in there. The guy was a employer at Wadkin for 20 odd years, and now him and his son buy old Wadkin and Sedgwick machines along with a few others I spotted, and restores them, not just reprays either the works! He had a 3phase AG10/12 in there it looked brand new, along with a awesome Sedwick planer thicknesser. I know they look so good because of the quality paint jobs, but they all guaranteed aswell. The Wadkin they had was only £750 I couldn't believe how cheap you can buy a quality piece of guaranteed machinery for. I felt like a kid in a sweet shop whilst browsing about! Least I know where I'll be going next time I have some doh saved up! I couldn't help but ponder if I was spending 7-800 on a table saw would I go old or new? defiantly old, I used to laugh at the old folk saying 'They don't make em like that anymore' Well they don't! But you can still grab a bargain!

Sounds good if it's in your area. :) Where people would've previously bought one of these machines on eBay for a bargain and tidied them up themselves, it seems to be more difficult now to get an old piece of cast iron for a reasonable price... I've watched a few table saws and bandsaw go for over £750 so, it's got to be worth it! :)

I assume they fix these machines up to comply with the current Health and Safety regulations, with braking and all that?

my startrite TA175 cost me £300, from a school aswell. its just a matter of getting there before the dealer do!

Nev, do you have the address for Timber Team Machinery?

John

I think Timber Team have a good reputation for refurbishing machines doing the job properly rather than just a quick coat of paint.

Jon

Funny you say that, he did say he did alot more than just put a new coat of paint on.
