Got this baby the other day.
I have had a few before, but this one was being used today. Chasing a volt to earth fault.

Easy to hold, easy to read.
Plus.

It survived a 9 foot fall to the ground.

I have a few Avo mk 8 and one Mk7.
The probes used on the 4.5 Mk 5, 6 and 8 had probes with 1.25" of exposed ends.

The ADT supplied meter has probes with 1.225" exposed ends. Mine was new 10/10/22 so is current and still is in its Cal date.

The probes are not an issue.

those tips are 1.3" long.
Lomger than the probes on the meter in the first post.

But what's the voltage rating? My guess is those are 30V AC/60V DC - i.e. intrinsically safe. The probe tip is one clue. The lack of shrouded plugs is another. They're so neatly coiled around the handles I assume they were shipped like that - mains rated ones probably wouldn't be, it would be flex abuse even with the ultra fine stranded wire used for test leads. Very nice for electronics and low voltage, e.g. most automotive, but the onus is on the user to swap to a different set when things may get bitey.

The Pocket watch one was used to chase 12vdc leak to earth on the negative line.

The coilded ones are stowed like that by me, as that is how they arrived. It keeps them tidy and neat in the case. That meter gets used every 4 weeks.

The regs do not give a a standard for probs, yet 2024 it is set to come in.
