I got this pump the other day, for the fun or restoring it.

Getting it to the stage of restoration was a fun job, rust had welded the steel parts together.
The leather cone washer was very dry, as were the flat seals.

The wood was cleaned with meths and wire wool

Yiu can see the differance, the lightpart is the area I was using a cabinet scraper. The dirty part is after the meths cleaning.

Getting the wax rubbed in. This was apple tree bee's wax.

During the paint stripping with caustic soda brought this odd effect. The steel looks like it was leeching copper.

Cleaned and all metal parts sealed with clear metal sealer. Then clear bee's wax was rubbed in.
