Hi all, a newbie here, I am a fulltime woodturner and also turning tutor for the adult ed. classes, I am also a technician for the arts centre in Milton Keynes. The art center has an old Wadkin Tradesmen RB-35 bandsaw that needs a new lower saw guide holder assembly.
The original has been over tightened on both guides and has split the casting. I can see that someone has attempted to weld it together but the welds just get in the way of the bolt head that locks it in place, so you cannot adjust the position of the guide assembly, and it has split again in another place so I guess the original casting was probably not too good.
I am trying to find a replacement for the original part of maybe even a fitting off another model that might work.
Does anyone have any ideas about where I could start looking for this old part, or got any ideas about replacing it. At the moment the guides are just pushed in the split holders and not really doing their job.
