I'm stripping our internal doors, and oiling them instead.

My question is - is this going to be OK for the inside of the bathroom door? Will it provide protection from the condensation and moisture, or would clear varnish be better for that face?

We do have an extractor fan, but it still gets damp in there.

Thanks

hello- this is a tricky one to answer as you don’t say what type of oil your using or how big the bathroom is and the likelihood of the door getting splashed with water.

An hybrid oil like woodoc or enduro-var would be better than a traditional oil or liberon do a kitchen and bathroom varnish which is formulated for high moisture environments.

Whatever you do your going to have to prep the doors thoroughly to remove any contaminants from the stripping process to allow the new coating to adhere correctly.

Hi

The door is inbetween the basin and the bath, so chances of splashing are high. I'll treat that side with one of those varnishes as suggested.

Many thanks
