Sorry to moan, but it just shows you how low these GREEDY people will
go!!!!
And how bent the system is, i believed she also claimed for an 88p plug!
But at the end of the day if my company said "help yourself to any stock you want
on your way out" well.............

Is that whats meant by "tax relief" or is that "pole tax"

Jason

Has anyone thought of the possibility that shes a right goer and watched them herself!!!
and her husband has done the honourable thing.

although somehow I doubt it

What gets me is the 88p for the bath plug. Someone's taking the p**s!

Roy.

How does the media get this information?

Whether she has done right or wrong - surely hiring a couple of films isn't stuff that's normally in the public domain - is it :?

regards

Brian

The suggestion I heard this evening Brian was that someone who deals with MP's expenses leaked it.

Roy.

Exactly what these muppets claim expenses for should be in the public domain. Blank out addresses etc, but everything should be known.
I do like the idea of claiming porn as expenses - does it going under the auspice of stress relief ;)

ADDED:
At the end of the day, what she did was fraud - pure and bloody simple.
She claimed for things that were watched in her home while she wasn't there - that's against the rules and she should face charges. It's about time someone cleaned up that cesspit we call parliament and they found out that they can't get away scot free with whatever they feel like.

Her husband watches some bluey's whilst she is away, but doesn't tell her about it (like he would....). She puts her bill through the expenses as normal (even our Dear Leader has a Sky subscription on expenses) without realising that her hubby's put the pay-per-view films on the bill.

What is fraudulent about that? Since when has mistake been equivalent to fraud?

Cheers

Karl

She signed them off Karl. Perhaps she should read them before signing, I'll bet she does in the future!

Roy.

Just seems an awful lot of fuss over very little to me. If I was dealing with an MPs expenses I really wouldn't think it important enough to leak something as trivial as a couple of films - whatever their content.

Maybe I'm just being naive

Brian

Couldn't agree more Brian - media blowing things up out of all proportion, IMO.

Roy - maybe she did sign the expense claim off. But neither you nor I know who actually got the info together for the expense claim (an employee, I would imagine). If she signed the bottom line, is she expected to have personally inspected each invoice which formed part of that expense claim?

Sensationalism, pure and simple.

Cheers

Karl

Your missing the point, chaps.

Since when could anyone legitimately claim for their MAIN house (by saying it is their second home) for every little expense...almost £145,000's worth..of expenses while allegedly staying at their sisters' house.

It's greed, greed, greed..pure and simple. Anyone else would have been done for fraud.

Quite true Roger, but the OP was about porno's on expenses which isn't quite the same thing as housing allowances.

Cheers

Oh absolutely, but it sell newspapers I imagine.
But at the same time two of them with their joint income claiming for a bath plug sends out a bad message, and you would think that she would realise that.

Roy.

True ....but the OP was referring to what the discussion might have been with her husband when she got home and not about the claiming of the films per se.

Was hoping for a few more film titles.

Wouldn't disagree with that Roy - which is why the system of PM's expenses needs to be overhauled, as it has done for some time.

The "88p plug" is quite amusing. She obviously lists for all the "expenditure" she has made on a property, presumably in accordance with the rules. It is then leaked to the media that a cabinet minister is, quite literally, screwing the tax payer for every penny she can get by "claiming 88p for a bath plug". SHOCK HORROR.....

Cheers

"Home Sec's tape"

I've got another few brewing......
