Odd parts, identification?

Hi, new user here (of both the forum AND woodturning gear) so be gentle

Inherited a lathe and a whole bunch of parts from my late Grandad, and seem to be slowly learning the ropes, but these few parts I can't pin down. Any help?
1: pivoting balljoint sections, one with a long rod & drillbit chuck.
2: what I assume to be pen turning pieces?
3: possibly parts for an old Myford lathe..

Can't give a precise answer but they look like they belong to a metalworking lathe of some description

Number 1 is a pair of pillow block bearings with shaft and Jacobs type chuck.

It would be usual to have a pulley on the shaft driven by a motor with another pulley using a v-belt. You can then mount wire brushes, polishing mops, drills etc in the chuck jaws.

Number 2 looks like a mandrel of some sort - it could be used for pens but not necessarily. Anything with a bore of the right size can be mounted on the mandrel for turning.

Number 3 is a simple cross-slide used to mount something (tooling or workpiece) in the dovetail slot at the top. I doubt it's off a Myford though - looks too flimsy and modern.

Fantastic, your description of the first bits match a few of the other parts in this box (singer motor, pulley wheel, belt etc.) and a plethora of polishing mops. Cheers!
Same for the other bits, much obliged. Only mentioned Myford because we had an old Myford Burnerd come from his house too, but sold it to buy more tools, they're possibly parts bought to fit it at a later date.

Number 3 is upside down as viewed. The dovetail would mount to the carriage on the lathe or on something attached to the carriage. There is a tool bit mounted in it now at the bottom being held by the rusty bolt. The knob on the left is to feed the toolbit in or out. I think it might possibly have been part of a home made ball turner but that's a guess.
