Hi guys
I'm just about to start making a large oak conservatory and was after recommendations for the best finish to apply.I don't really want a shiny varnish just something that is tough and long lasting.
Cheers Chris

Are you talking about the outside or inside.
For my money I would use Osmo polyx oil for both. Osmo do 'UV-PROTECTION OILS' which are formulated for outside projects like conservatories, the also do a range of solid colours called 'COUNTRY COLOUR' which might be worth considering.

If you go down the osmo route ( which I'd also recommend) make sure any cills or horizontal surfaces are atleast 15 degrees ;-) horizontal surfaces are the only ones that suffered on a job I used it on but the tin does say minimum 15

Cheers for the advice guys it is for the inside and outside ,and regarding cills there is to be a slate cill so there will be no problem there thanks again
Chris
