Not so knotty pine

Morning,
Looking for a species of pine that is as knot free as possible.
It's for a butcher block style table, sis-in-law wants to keep costs down but doesn't want to se too many knots.

If you can find some decent quality unsorted redwood it won't have many knots but you will need to be at a proper timber merchant.

Failing that Southern Yellow Pine is knot free but not sure what the price is like as I haven't used any for years.

not so easy at the moment but IMO it is a case of selecting stock carefully in store
