Has anyone had any experience of any of Noel Marshalls Bricky stuff?
Cheers.

Don't know about Noel Marshall but "Marshalls" trowels were and I believe are still the best money can buy. I have some I bought 40 years ago, one of which is now worn down to a large pointing trowel.

I assume you mean the gizmos sold for the amateur market like line holders and mortar bed jigs etc.

different Marshall, your thinking Marshall town. one is excellent and should have money spent on it, the other is a piece of plastic that should be left on the shelf.

be better off spending the 50ish notes on a load of bricks a bag of muck to practice with.

Yes I have one.
I bought it ~ 13 years ago to do the blockwork on my workshop.
If I remember rightly I mainly used the large tray for the horizontal mortar and just "buttered" the ends by hand.
I can see where novocaine is coming from but this was (and had been) the last major bit of brick / blockwork I was going to do and it was easier and quicker to use rather than to improve my very basic brick laying technique.
You can probably just see it in the background.

Yeah I realised after I posted, I'd had a couple of beers in my defence #-o
Those plastic things are pretty poor though I can see how they have a market for those who haven't laid a brick before.

I haven't used one myself but I saw a garage that a complete novice had built using one and was very impressed, the beds were perfect.

laid 3 course of blocks for a shed base recently. Seen the "Brickies mate" on youtube, made my own from a few scraps of wood. Did the job perfectly - binned it once I'd done and it cost me nothing.

Sounds good, thanks.
