My first attempt several years ago at a solid pine coffee table.
My youngest thinks its the most comfortable seat in the house!

 hes not potty trained yet, but we are getting there.
As soon as hes done the business he likes nothing better than pulling off his nappy and showing you.

of all the toys they've got they both like nothing better than to play with the coffee table draws.

I'm glad I built it "chunky" now

Way back when, wasn't it traditional that the new baby was put to bed in the bottom drawer of the shest of drawers?

Shows up the strength of your construction...........you obviously allowed for this eventuallity when you built the furniture!!

Great pics Steve, "but", if you look at the pics
closely you can see on the floor under him
he's wiped already on one of his toy's.

Looks to me like the original wooden Playstation - designed with inquisitive 2 year old brains in mind.
Drawers full of toys and the top is perfect for colouring, PlayDoh, battles and just driving cars around.

Whatever made you think it was a coffee table Steve?

how right you are, coffee table...... NEVER!

it seems to be no end of entertainment for the lads, as well as the stated functions its also a climbing frame, seat, dinner table, foot rest, tunnel and much more!

my eldest doesn't believe I made it, cheeky git!

kind words, many thanks.
I had to duck out of UKWS for a while as Mrs KU lost her first pregnancy. It really knocked us for 6, she had to have quite a major op and still has the war wounds......
BUT after 2 problematic (sucessful) pregnancies we have 2 bouncing lads, and I couldn't be happier.

My eldest LOVES helping in the workshop and I like to think of it as us both learning woodworking together
The youngest is getting interested now, I`m gonna have to make a dual inlet cyclone for my shop vac as we have quite a battle now when it gets to hoovering up time

The plan is to eventually re-make the table in ash (which is going to be the choosen wood for the living room, picture frames, coffee table, mantel piece and multimedia centre).

Steve
