I have just moved into a new workshop and bought a metal bench from Axy. I have never known such a frigging pig of a job putting it together. There are 8 allen bolts securing the top to the legs and you have to be a catortionist to get the bolts in. On some I can just get a 1/4 of a turn with an allen key and then fumble to get it in the hole again and it took near 20 minutes before I could feel it tighten in the hole. Whoever designed this friggoing bench should be made to accompany each order and assemble it, that would teach the pratt who dreamed it up. If I had one of those long reach bit holders with the right allen bit in a cordless it would be easier but I don't.

Can you cut the longest length off an allen key and use a suitably sized socket and extension and ratchet?

Just a thought.

I have a fairly extensive set of 1/4" hex bits, including allen keys.

In conjunction with a brace, a hand driver, and (in the case at hand) one of these:

foot long hex extender

most tasks can be managed nicely.
