Hi
Just wondered about the mysterious world of UK Workshop forums..at what point does a forum newbie become a furniture maker??
Steve

It's to do with the number of posts you make Steve nothing more, though I can't find any info on how many posts you need to progress through the ranks. You'll notice I'm a "master furnituremaker" all that really means is that Im a gobby sh@~$:)

Cheers Mike

Just keep on posting to threads like this one and you'll soon get there

Cheers

Seems to me that you might stop doing woodwork of whatever description and sit all day in front of your PC posting messages on this forum!

:? I can do better than that. Spent the last 18 months off sick and had open heart surgery and just been retired on health grounds.
It's a swine when you've been as strong as an ox for most of your life. I even used to enter anvil throwing contests (honestly).

Are you able to do much :?:

:( I can manage about half hour on the lathe. Biggest wrench is that I also do wildlife photography and now I can't walk very far so I'm not able to get around the nature reserves.
I once walked the whole of the Cornish coastal path with my spaniel and we had a great time.
 Still, mustn't grumble - there's lots worse off. My old dad used to say, "I moaned about my legs always hurting until I saw a fella that didn't have any."
Keep taking the pills! (18 per day!)

Ok I`m just cheating a bit now and posting this to get to my 50th posting to see what happens . Sad I know. hope I don`t get booted off

Jack, i'm on 36 pills a day now, and i'm just gettin into lathe turning
even though i've had my (cheap ) lathe for a couple of years now.
It's the only woodwork i can manage for a couple of hours at a time at the moment.
